As you can see in the pictures above, Justin and Chris Fitzpatrick have always been the life and laughter of the Oklahoma Firefighters Burncamp.Their presence has always been followed with fun, warmth, and lots of laughter. Sadly just a few weeks after the 2010 camp, Justin was killed in a tragic accident. As we all continue on with our lives day by day, we are all better for the time that we had with Justin. We started off camp this year by honoring Justin and his life with a moment of silence. On the last day of camp 2011 we announced the establishment of the OKFFBURNCAMP FITZPATRICK SCHOLARSHIP in honor of two of our favorite sons, Justin and Chris Fitzpatrick.
We are overjoyed to report that since the seperation from all other organizations and the realignment of the E-board we have been able to establish a scholarship fund that is now flourishing. This restructure has allowed the OKFFBURNCAMP to financially secure burncamp and the scholarship program for years to come. All monies donated are used 100% for either the Camp or the scholarship fund. All time, effort, and love given to produce this camp is 100% donated. The goal of the E-Board is to one day be able to assist all of our campers with their dreams of a college education. The very first presentation of the” Fitzpatrick Scholarship” will be awarded at the 2012 Oklahoma Firefighters Burncamp. More information and scholarship application to follow.
